German wholesaler Metro AG signed an agreement with Jimo district in Qingdao on Sept 17 to build a new store in the district.

The new venue will be Metro's third mall in Qingdao.

A Fortune Global 500 company, Metro AG is one of the most globalized retail and wholesale corporations. It is the fourth-largest retailer in the world measured by revenue, after Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Tesco.

The new store will be constructed in the Jimo International Trade City Area, a trade and logistics hub measuring more than 2 million square meters.
