Qingdao officials and company representatives attended the "Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500" South Korea special via online channels on Oct 22.

The event, which took place in Jinan and Seoul, was jointly hosted by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, the Shandong Provincial People's Government, and the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The aim of the event was to increase exchange and cooperation with multinational companies from South Korea.

Agreements for 23 projects with investment totaling $820 million were signed during the event. Two of these projects will be carried out in Qingdao.

At the Qingdao host venue, local commerce authorities and representatives from Korean-invested companies also held a business seminar to promote cooperation.

Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao has been promoting international business cooperation and investment via online channels. Official data shows that in the first three quarters of this year, the actual utilized foreign capital in Qingdao reached 28.57 billion yuan ($4.27 billion), up 4.4 percent year-on-year.
