Sohn Kyung-shik
Chairman of the South Korean CJ Group
Sohn Kyung-shik, born in 1939, master of Business Administration from the Oklahoma State University. He has worked in Korea and Japan Bank, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd. Since 1995, he has been the chairman of CJ. Since 2018, he has also served as President of the Korea Employers Federation and Honorary President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Founded in 1953, CJ was developed from CJ CheilJedang and has now grown into a global living and cultural enterprise, with core business covering four major fields: food and catering services, biotechnology, logistics & new circulation, entertainment & media. In 2019, the turnover of CJ was US28.986 billion, ranking 437th in the Fortune 500 in 2020.
