II Introduction to the project unit

Mountains and hills account for 94% of the total area of Mengyin County. The soil is neutral to slightly acidic, with high content of phosphorus and potassium, suitable for the growth of apple, peach, pear, chestnut, hawthorn, cherry and other fruit trees. Mengyin County is a national quality and safety demonstration area of exported fruit, the national green food processing base, and lists in China’s one hundred strongest counties of fruit production. The orchard covers an area of 1 million mu in the county, with an annual output of 1.2 billion kilograms. The peaches cover a cultivation area of 650,000 mu, with an annual output of 900 million kilograms; apples cover a cultivation area of 220,000 mu, with an annual output of 250 million kilograms; and chestnuts cover a cultivation area of 150,000 mu, with an annual output of 50 million kilograms.

1. Build large-scale fruit cool store, and newly increase the production line of preserved fruit, jam and fruit juice; 2. Establish the construction of organic fruit base.

The project newly built large-scale deep processing project of fruit series, especially the deep processing project of green organic food, can take full advantage of local resources, and improve added value of products.
